Climbing higher using Zmags

With thousands of interested tourists coming online from all over the world to visit what the magnificent Canadian region has to offer, the Vancouver, Coast & Mountains tourism board had to fnd a better way to satisfy all of the demand. In order to be more environmentally friendly and cost effective, the Tourism board also wanted to reduce the number of printed guides it sends out. In trying out less feature-rich digital publishing solutions, the creators of the yearly travel guides were frustrated by the lack of control they had in the development of each digital issue.

Solution

“What we quickly saw in the Zmags Publicator Pro was something which could be managed in-house and could drive more trafic to our online publications. The addition of link tracking, readership stats and multimedia integration was something we’d never seen before with any accuracy in other solutions – and I can usually create the guides with all of the ads and links in less than a day,” Kelly Miller, manager of online guides for Vancouver, Coast & Mountains explains.

Results

Today Vancouver, Coast & Mountains is anticipating a 50% increase in their digital guide readership just through the implementation of Zmags. In fact, they have an estimated forecast of 116,000 page views for next year’s publication, where they only had 58,000 or so page views with their previous solution. And how is it working with the folks at Zmags with so much tourism revenue on the line?

“I have found the service and support excellent whenever needed,” Miller notes. “Even though we are in Vancouver and our Zmags reps are on the East Coast, we have never had an issue with communication.”
